My combination of technical expertise, grassroots organizing, and passion for progressive change makes him the ideal candidate to serve as your township clerk. I am ready to bring transparency, efficiency, and a people-first approach to local government.
Gary's Story
Gary Kleppe brings a unique blend of academic expertise, professional experience, and unwavering commitment to public service. He earned his Ph.D. in high-energy theoretical physics from Case Western Reserve University and the University of Florida. After completing postdoctoral research, Gary transitioned to a successful career as a software engineer, where he worked for nearly 24 years before retiring.

A proud resident of Villa Park for over 20 years, Gary has been deeply involved in local politics and community advocacy. He served as chair of the York Township Democratic Organization for six years, following four years as vice-chair. Throughout his tenure, Gary has championed progressive causes such as universal health care, ensuring his efforts reflect the values and priorities of the community he loves.
In addition to his leadership and activism, Gary is skilled in creating and maintaining cost-effective, dynamic websites—like the York Township Democratic Organization’s site—for just $65 a year, proving that innovation and fiscal responsibility can go hand in hand.
