I’m excited to announce my candidacy for York Township Highway Commissioner in the April 1, 2025 Consolidated Election, and I’m asking for your support.

As Highway Commissioner, I would be dedicated to improving the infrastructure of York Township, focusing on the safety and accessibility of our roads and public facilities. MY extensive experience in maintenance, strong work ethic, and genuine commitment to my community sets me apart as a leader York Township needs.

Why Jim Kehring is the Right Choice for York Township Highway Commissioner!

Jim Kehring is a lifelong resident of Villa Park who has a deep, personal connection to the community he serves. As a proud father of three and a dedicated member of the Elmhurst Elks for over 20 years, Jim is fully committed to making York Township a better place for all its residents.
​
With 42 years of experience in construction and as a union carpenter, Jim’s background is rich in expertise and hands-on leadership. For the first five years of his career and learning his trade, he became a foreman, managed the job team, and ensured the work was completed on time and safely. Later Jim worked diligently building and remodeling stores, which laid the foundation for his long career in the industry.
Over the next 30 years, Jim worked in a leadership role in the facilities maintenance department for a major grocery store chain, responsible for ensuring that 50 stores were in good working order. In this role, he was responsible for all repairs, procuring necessary equipment, and for coordinating electricians and plumbers to managing outside contractors for any needed fixes. With his expertise and knowledge he was a go to guy when problems arose, available to help wherever needed and on call 24/7.

Jim's primary goal in every project has always been to follow through and ensure that every task is completed to the highest standard. This hands-on approach makes him exceptionally qualified to take on the role of Highway Commissioner.

Beyond his professional accomplishments, Jim has always prioritized giving back to the community. Jim took part in the Willowcrest Homeowners Association, served a term as its president, and enjoyed being involved with the community and their needs.
​
As a young father, he dedicated countless hours coaching his children’s youth baseball and softball teams where he instilled the values of teamwork, perseverance, and commitment. His approach not only helped young children develop their skills but also taught them the importance of working together and supporting one another, both on and off the field.
