Meet Ilse Messner

Ilse Messner is a dedicated community leader and financial professional with a deep commitment to improving the lives of residents in York Township. A Chicagoland native, with an MBA from the University of Chicago and over 20 years of experience in financial leadership positions, Ilse has lived in Lombard with her husband for the past 15 years. She grew up in a low-income family, where she witnessed firsthand the struggles of her mother working multiple jobs to provide for her family. Relying on the generosity of her church, local food banks, and community social services, Ilse learned the importance of community support and giving back.

Ilse’s passion for service is evident in her current roles as the Treasurer of the DuPage County Democratic Party, Secretary of the York Center Community, and as a dedicated volunteer for LadderUp, where she volunteers her time to provide free tax assistance and financial services for low-income families.

A Vision for Transparent and Effective Government

York Township needs a leader who can bring fiscal discipline, transparency, and improved communication to local government. As Township Trustee, Ilse will work tirelessly to implement sound budgeting and spending policies to ensure taxpayer dollars are used effectively and that much-needed community programs can run efficiently. The current lack of transparency in the Township, with meeting agendas, minutes, and budgets being difficult to access or incomplete, needs to change. Ilse is committed to making all Township financial information publicly available and easily accessible.​
